Format: Online Part 1 (4 hours), Classroom Part 2 (4 hours), often 1 hour shorter because self-paced. Successfully completing the MAT IS Part 1 online course enables you to print your MAT IS Part 1 Completion Certificate, which is required for admission to the MAT IS Part 2 classroom course. The Part 1 Completion Certificate is valid for 6 months.

The name of this course has been changed from MAT Renewal to MAT First Renewal as of 9/30/19. Certificates from the MAT Renewal course remain valid until their expiration date.
WARNING: This course is designed for experienced providers who give medications regularly using the MAT method. There is NO content review or practice in this course, just an online test and classroom skill demonstrations.
Prerequisites: Current or recently expired (within 90 days) MAT Certificate. A MAT Renewal/MAT First Renewal certificate CANNOT be used to meet this requirement, because the MAT First Renewal course can only taken for the FIRST renewal of a MAT Certificate.

Format: Online Part 1 (30 minutes, written test only), Classroom Part 2 (30 minutes per participant, skill demonstrations only). Successfully completing the MAT First Renewal Part 1 online course enables you to print your MAT First Renewal Part 1 Completion Certificate, which is required for admission to the MAT First Renewal Part 2 classroom course. The Part 1 Completion Certificate is valid for 6 months.

The name of this course was changed from EMAT to AMAT on 9/30/19. Certificates from the EMAT course remain valid until their expiration date.
Skills Covered: The AMAT (Allergy and Anaphylaxis Medication Administration Training) course covers skills that can help you prevent asthma and allergy emergencies. This course covers ONLY administering liquid Benadryl, metered-dose inhalers, and the EpiPen epinephrine auto-injector. These skills are ALSO COVERED in the MAT, MAT IS and MAT First Renewal courses.
Hours Credit: 4.5 HOURS CREDIT
Format: Online Part 1 (2 hours), Classroom Part 2 (2.5 hours). Successfully completing the AMAT Part 1 online course enables you to print your AMAT Part 1 Completion Certificate, which is required for admission to the AMAT Part 2 classroom course. The Part 1 Completion Certificate is valid for 6 months.

Skills Covered: Administration of the Auvi-Q epinephrine auto-injector. This course is for providers who who hold a current MAT, MAT First Renewal, AMAT or EpiPen Certificate). Providers holding any of these certificates are authorized to administer other preloaded epinephrine injectors AFTER receiving additional training in use of the specific preloaded injector they will use. This course may be used to meet this additional training requirement for the Auvi-Q device.
Hours Credit: Non-credit course, meets additional device-specific training requirement

Skills Covered: Administration of the Adrenaclick epinephrine auto-injector. This course is for providers who who hold a current MAT, MAT First Renewal, AMAT or EpiPen Certificate). Providers holding any of these certificates are authorized to administer other preloaded epinephrine injectors AFTER receiving additional training in use of the specific preloaded injector they will use. This course may be used to meet this additional training requirement for the Adrenaclick device.
Hours Credit: Non-credit course, meets additional device-specific training requirement

Skills Covered: Administration of the Symjepi preloaded epinephrine injector. This course is for providers who who hold a current MAT, MAT First Renewal, AMAT or EpiPen Certificate). Providers holding any of these certificates are authorized to administer other preloaded epinephrine injectors AFTER receiving additional training in use of the specific preloaded injector they will use. This course may be used to meet this additional training requirement for the Symjepi device.
Hours Credit: Non-credit course, meets additional device-specific training requirement

Certificate Earned:MAT Symjepi Course Completion Certificate (term - 3 years)
WARNING: ONLY providers who hold a current MAT Certificate or MAT Renewal/First Renewal Certificate are eligible to take the MAT Diabetes Part 2 class that completes this course. You MUST bring your qualifying MAT Certificate or MAT Renewal/First Renewal Certificate to the MAT Diabetes Part 2 class to be admitted.
Prerequisites: Current MAT or MAT Renewal/First Renewal certification
Skills Covered: Administering blood glucose and urine ketone tests, calculating insulin doses, giving insulin by syringe and pen injector, and giving glucagon.
Hours Credit: 9.5 HOURS CREDIT
Format: Online Part 1 (3.5 hours), Classroom Part 2 (6 hours). Successfully completing the MAT Diabetes Part 1 online course enables you to print your MAT Diabetes Part 1 Completion Certificate, which is required for admission to the MAT Diabetes Part 2 classroom course. The Part 1 Completion Certificate is valid for 6 months.

Skills Covered: Administration of the Solu-Cortef (Act-O-Vial packaging only) adrenal crisis rescue medication by injection. This course is available in two formats:
Providers without current MAT Certification can earn Solu-Cortef certification by successfully completing the online Solu-Cortef Part 1 course AND the classroom Solu-Cortef Part 2 course.
MAT Certified providers need only take and pass the classroom Solu-Cortef Part 2 course to earn Solu-Cortef certification.
Hours Credit: 3.5 HOURS CREDIT

Providers holding a Seizure Rescue Nasal Spray Completion Certificate must ALSO hold current MAT Certification (either a MAT Certificate or MAT First Renewal Certificate) or current MAT Epilepsy Certification to be authorized to give seizure rescue nasal spray.
Skills Covered: Administering Valtoco and Nayzilam seizure rescue nasal spray devices.
